Serves in a full-performance level staff position as a
social worker who practices in a social services/health
care treatment facility or clinic. As an experienced
worker, i! ndependently performs a broad spectrum of
direct health care services. Duties focus on the whole
range of treatment skills and sound judgment of
psycho-social and environmental problems with no

limitations as to the difficulty of services such as:

• Making independent professional decisions and

recommendations for actions that can have serious impact
on the life of the patient/client served.

• Motivating patients with a marginal adjustment toward

resuming more effective control of his/her own life.

• Is accountable for identifying problems that are

serious and complex.

• Giving interpretations of case histories to judges of

courts, members of boards, and at conferences of staff
teams for their use in reaching decisions as to
indicated medical, correctional, or psychiatric
treatment.

• Participating actively in program planning and

development and maintenance of public understanding a! nd
sound work relationships with local agencies and
community resources.

• Performing counseling to those receiving therapy for

social adjustment, addictive, mental or physical
disorders in rehabilitation facilities, nursing homes,
employment settings, schools or correction facilities.
Requirements

• Successful completion of post-baccalaureate degree in

physical therapy from an accredited education program,
OR successful completion of a Doctor of Physical Therapy
(DPT) degree.

• Must pass a State-administered national examination.
• Must be a trained physical therapist and completed

clinical affiliation requirements.

• Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification is

required.
