Position Details:
Position: Assistant Credit Manager
Location: Newport News, VA
Hours: 8am-5pm
Pay Rates: $14-16/hour
Length: 3 month Temp-to-Hire contract
Job Description:
- To assist in the administration of the daily credit and collection management duties of the credit department within the guidelines set forth in the company credit policy manual consistent with the various approval limits assigned to each credit
- Supervise the daily activities of the credit and collection department, collections of assigned accounts, invoice dispute resolution, and review of accounts wit! h sales staff and the Credit Manager.
- The ability to ! handle difficult situations in a professional manner is a must.
- Analyze request for credit and assign credit lines in accordance with established guidelines.
- Perform financial statement analysis, contact trade and references, analyze D & B, NACM and Experian reports.
- Recommend and offer alternatives for margin/high risk companies.
- Maintain complete and accurate credit files and records of all accounts.
- Respond to customer inquiries in a timely manner.
- Establish and maintain positive relationship/communication with other departments and clients to enhance customer service and promote organic sales growth.
- Maintain and preserve bond and lien rights and recommend accounts to be referred to collection agencies and /or attorneys in a timely manner.
- Meet or exceed monthly and annual goals related to corporate credit policy.
- Daily posting of cash receipts, preparing back deposits, business credit prin! ciples and ethics.
- Experience opening new accounts
- Ability to make credit decisions
- Determine proper credit limit
- Ability to read company financial statements
- Working knowledge of liens, bonds and securities
