Description: Virginia Western Community College is at present recruited PARALEGAL INSTRUCTOR right now, this vacancy will be presented in Virginia. Virginia Western Community College (VWCC) is accepting applications for a nine-month Paralegal faculty position in the School of Business and Technology beginning the Fall 201! 3 semester. Responsibilities include teaching college level Paralegal courses. The required teaching load is 15 credits per semester, which may include face-to-face and hybrid/distance-learning courses during the day and evening, weekdays, and weekends.
In addition to teaching, all faculty members advise students, serve on college committees, and participate in other activities and projects that support the mission of the college. Such activities may include, but are not limited to: college/departmental meetings and curriculum planning, programmatic assessment, course and program evaluation, community service, club sponsorship, student recruitment and retention activities, and mentoring new and part-time faculty.
QUALIFICATIONS
REQUIRED: The successful candidate will possess a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Legal Studies or related field or an Associate's degree in the teaching field with demonstrated competency ! in the field. Strong communication skills, knowledge of the cu! rrent Legal Environment, and experience using technology in the classroom. Experience meeting the learning needs of diverse populations. Willingness and ability to teach evening classes.
DESIRED: Master's Degree in Business Administration, Legal Studies, or related field or Juris Doctorate preferred. Full or part-time experience teaching in a college setting, preferably a community college, with experience teaching Paralegal or related courses. Experience as a practicing attorney. Proficiency in using Blackboard.
