The City of Richmond - Department of Justice Services is seeking a qualified individual with experience to fill the position of Senior Pretrial Probation Officer (Grant-Funded). Duties include but are not limited to the following:
Develops and carries out internal case audits to assure they meet the state and program standards;
Assists in preparation of monthly and quarterly reports as requested;
Conducts regular meetings with staff to discuss program goals and targets;
Provides written and oral reports to judicial officers;
Conducts training for newly hired pretrial probation officers and assist probation staff with supervision of caseloads.
Qualification! s, Special Certifications and Licenses:
Bachelor’s d! egree in Criminal Justice, Psychology, Social Work, Counseling or a related field and two years experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Requires two years of experience
An equivalent combination of training and experience (as approved by the department) may be used to meet the minimum qualifications of the classification.
Preferred candidate will have a current Virginia Criminal Information Network certification; experience administering COMPAS, LSI or research-based Risk Assessment Instrument; and completion of Pretrial Community Corrections (PTCC) training.
Successful candidate will have demonstrated decision making, case management, problem solving and oral and written communication skills; and experience in Correctional Offender Management Profiling For Alternative Sanctions.
A criminal background investigation will be required.
