RECOVERY ANALYST

Analyzes, researches and obtains data required to prepare financial adjustments to medical claims expense from overpayments identified, pursued and collected.
Performs routine audits of claims paid to verify accuracy of claims expense recorded on SHP financial statements.
Responsible for preparing payment adjustments to reduce medical claims expense in accordance with various programs (ie. MSP, Workers Compensation, Subrogation, National Association of Insurance Companies, Fair Business Practices Act laws established by the Bureau of Insurance, as well as other Federal and! State Laws and Regulations).
Analyzes claims expense! incurred for retro-terminated members, members with other primary insurance and specific diagnoses’ to identify all potential workers compensation and subrogation.
Negotiates acceptable recovery procedures and offers solutions to attorneys, providers and members based on current policies. In addition, prepares documentation summarizing medical treatment for attorney’s filing workers compensation and subrogation cases.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent required. Minimum of 2 years financial claims recovery, accounting, or claims experience required. Basic computer skills including working knowledge of PC applications such as Windows, Word and Excel required.
