The Richmond office seeks an experienced document clerk to support a busy litigation group.
Responsibilities:
Labels documents using Bates labeling as requested.
Organizes document production and prepares indices of document productions.
Assist with document collection, filing and maintaining e-rooms.
Locates documents at the request of paralegals and attorneys.
Organizes and labels case files.
Prepares shipping labels.
Prints production letters.
Gathers and organizes supplies and materials. Ensures the appropriate supplies are ! collected and distributed/shipped to trial site for use by par! alegals and attorneys.
Maintains office supplies.
Organizes file rooms.
Prepares closed files for off-site storage.
Assists with monitoring of on-site contract attorneys to include monitoring of passes, entries and exits to the room and daily activities. Advises management of any concerns.
Perform additional duties as directed.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION/WORK EXPERIENCE:
Requires high school diploma or equivalent with some college education preferred and one to two years law office clerical or general office experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Typing 40 WPM
Accurate filing skills.
Good organizational skills.
Good spelling and grammar.
Good attention to detail
Familiarity with PCs (Office 2010, Excel, PowerPoint) and willing to learn the use of summation and Access databases.
Minimal local travel required to attend trial ! and for the collection and/or on-site production of documents.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to work overtime as needed.
Acuity, lifting/moving up to 50 pounds on a regular basis, ability to express oneself and convey information in an efficient manner, ability to position oneself to move, ability to operate office equipment such as fax, phone, computer, copy machine, etc.
