Paralegal - Antitrust Specialist

The Antitrust Specialist aids senior attorneys in preparing and drafting antitrust pleadings, filings, briefs, and memoranda. The Antitrust Specialist also conducts research, gathers data, and performs va! rious administrative services to the practice group, in a team environment. The position involves daily contact with Verizon business employees and outside counsel and includes general supervision of litigation/document projects as needed. Some travel is required.
Position Responsibilities:
Prepare and help draft filings for the DOJ, FTC, and other agencies, including HSRs, CIDs, Second Requests, and class action settlement claims.
Participate in drafting of antitrust briefs, memoranda, and other court filings.
Conduct legal research using Lexis, Pacer, the Internet, and non-electronic resources.
Conduct factual investigations and interviews of corporate personnel to fulfill discovery and compliance obligations.
Assist senior attorneys in managing antitrust litigation projects, document productions, and trial support.
Monitor telecom industry news, agency activity, and case law to identify trends and patterns ! that may impact Verizon.
Collaborate with senior atto! rneys to develop and pursue law reform activities, as appropriate.
Participate in workgroup teams for specific projects.
Perform various administrative tasks, as needed.
Travel 0-25%, depending on caseload.
Required Skills & Experience
Four-year college degree or equivalent work experience.
Legal education or 2+ years of legal experience at a major corporation or top law firm
Strong research and writing skills.
Strong planning and management skills.
Proficiency with computer applications, especially Internet resources, legal databases, the Microsoft Office suite, and trial presentation software. Expertise in Microsoft Excel.
Desired Skills & Experience
Graduate of an accredited law school
HSR Premerger Notification experience highly desired
Paralegal certification
Demonstrated knowledge of antitrust, telecommunications, civil procedure, and patent la! w preferred.
Experience working on large document productions, including demonstrated proficiency with e-discovery and predictive coding tools a plus.
