This is a paraprofessional position responsible for processing customer information requ! ests in the Customer Records/Court Services Work Center. When subpoenas are served to the agency, this area is tasked with receiving the subpoena. This position will evaluate the order to see what is needed to fulfill the request, coordinate and gather the requested information within a limited amount of time. This position is responsible for representing DMV when called by a subpoena to appear in court or provide a deposition over the telephone.
This position will be responsible for the following:
Receiving, logging and tracking subpoenas
Evaluating, researching and gathering requested information to respond to subpoena
Communicating with courts, attorney and other external entities
Analyzing DMV customer records
Testifying in court and providing telephone depositions by explaining information from customer records
Reviewing, evaluating, and processing customer information requests.
Responding to var! ious types of correspondence received via mail, email, and fax! from customers.
Review and ensure nonresident suit packet is completed according to DMV procedures.
Responding to phone calls received from the public, DMV Customer Service Centers, DMV Direct as well as other work centers at headquarters.
Minimum Qualifications
Knowledge of business English, mathematics, office operating practices, office equipment and its uses, standard business forms and filing systems and principles. Keyboarding skills and ability to use a personal computer and access automated systems. Demonstrated ability to perform detailed work using prescribed procedures; collect and organize material by analyzing what is available and deciding what to include; present data in prescribed format. Interpret and explain guidelines, regulations, policies and procedures to customers. Compose correspondence, research, analyze data and reach logical conclusions. Communicate in a courteous and effective manner with others, inside and ou! tside the agency.
High School Graduation or Equivalent
