Job Description
We are seeking a mid to senior level Java developer to join a cross-functional t! eam of analysts, developers, and geo-spatial experts to develop enterprise solutions for geo-spatial applications and data visualization. The developer will work with the delivery team to supply geo-spatial based applications across a wide variety of platforms including web services, desktop applications as well as mobility technologies. In this role the successful candidate will interface directly with our delivery teams using geospatial technologies, and work closely with software engineers, technical managers and customers to implement enterprise mission solutions.
Successful candidates should have experience across the systems development lifecycle and be able to provide technical support for the development and deployment of mission critical geo-spatial systems. Candidates must be able to work with business and technical partners to deliver solutions that meet stakeholder needs.
For this position US citizenship is required. Eligibility is also depende! nt on the ability to obtain a government public trust.
Req! uirements
Required:
B.S. degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other related technology degree program
Ability to translate stakeholder requirements into software solutions
Demonstrated development experience and integrations in customer environments with geospatial and client software
Excellent customer service skills, teaming skills, and the ability to work within a cross-functional team
Demonstrated ability to be a quick learner who can adjust to changing priorities
5+ years of Java development
Desired:
Development experience with GIS client software: Google Earth and Maps, Oracle Spatial, ESRI
Working knowledge of Web 2.0 development platform including HTML5, XML/XSLT/XHTML, J2EE, servlets and Javascript
Knowledge of XML web services, APIs and agile development methodologies
Rapid prototype programming proficiency and knowledge of SQL
Experience with data visualization tools and related technologies
