Master's degree in a related field or Law degree (J.D.) and five years of progressively responsible experience in a criminal justice, judicial, or other legal env! ironment to include one year of supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Considerable knowledge of the judicial system. Knowledge of the principles and practices of court or public administration. Knowledge of strategic planning, court procedures, accounting/budgeting procedures, and project management. Ability to create and maintain good working relationships among elected officials, county officials, judges and the legal community as well as the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Demonstrated ability to gather and analyze information and make recommendations regarding proper courses of action. Pre-employment drug testing and FBI criminal background check required.
Duties:
The 12th Judicial Circuit Court is accepting applications for the position of Administrator of Judicial Operations in the Chesterfield County Circuit Court Judges' Chambers. This position, in conjunction with the Chief J! udge, has overall management authority and responsibility for ! the non-judicial components of the 12th Judicial Circuit Court in Chesterfield, Virginia. Duties include directing the administrative and operational non-judicial activities for the Chesterfield Circuit Court Judges' Chambers; providing executive administrative support to five Circuit Court judges; managing the Court's calendar and the criminal and civil dockets; managing the Court's projects and special events; managing the Court's personnel including recruitment, training, and supervision; preparing and administering the Court's budget; authorizing and monitoring expenditures to ensure compliance with fiscal policies; formulating and implementing policy with respect to the operation of court administration; identifying needed changes, innovations, or problems and making recommendations for procedural or administrative improvements; and serving as a liaison with the County, other government agencies, the bar, the media, and the community. Performs other work as required.
