Nursing Supervisor

This position is accountable for oversight of patient care delivery whenever the Director of Inpatient Nursing is not in the hospital.
This RN makes rounds to the nu! rsing units, collaborates with staff to solve clinical and staffing issues, addresses and documents practice variations and staff non-compliance to HR policies.
Nursing metrics are assessed and staff coached/mentored to improve outcomes when deficits are identified.
This RN also serves as a patient advocate, communicates with support departments as appropriate to resolve issues.
Following the chain of command, communicates appropriate issues to AOC, Nursing Leadership, and Ancillary Departments.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
·
BSN required or BSN completed
within 5 years
of hire
·
Based on primary state of residency and in accordance with current Virginia Board of Nursing Regulations, must be licensed or eligible to practice pending licensure as a Registered Nurse in the
Commonwealth
of
Virginia
w! ith either a Multi-state license, under the Nurse Licensure Co! mpact OR Single-state license, valid in
Virginia
only.

Preferably five years acute care/critical care/ED nursing experience.
·
Knowledgeable in the cognitive, physical, emotional and chronological stages of human growth and development.
·
Competent to provide assessment, care and treatment appropriate to the age group of patients served.
·
Acts as notary public by notarizing wills, power of attorney or witness of documents as needed.
