Location: Virginia Beach, Virginia

The City Attorney’s Office is seeking an attorney with an interest in and knowledge of land use, zoning and environmental law. Duties include advising City departments, representing boards and commissions, preparing written opinions, and representing the City in court. Excellent writing ability, sharp analytical skills, and strong research abilities are essential. Candidates with familiarity of cable/telecommunications law preferred.

Minimum qualifications: Active membership in good standing in the Virginia State Bar; eligible to practive law in the State of Virginia and the Federal District Court, has a third year practice certificate and becomes an active member of the Virginia State Bar withing six (6) months of hire, or is a member in good standing in an out-of-state Bar and becomes an active member of the Virginia State Bar within six (6) months of hire.

Minimum Requirements:

MINIMUMS: Active membership in good standing in the Virginia State Bar; eligible to practice law in the State of Virginia and the Federal District Court.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: All employees may be expected to work hours in excess of their normally scheduled hours in response to short-term department needs and/or City-wide emergencies.
