NSTA seeks highly qualified candidates for the position of eCybermission Volunteer Coordinator. The eCybermission Competition creates a virtual learning experience for Grade 6-9 students providing them a rich real-world opportunity to collaborate with classmates investigating local community problems using scientific inquiry and then applying the scientific method and/or engineering design to propose solutions to those problems. The Volunteer Coordinator will establish short and long-range goals to achieve eCybermission volunteer objectives, including those related to volunteer participation and retention. Provide direct and indirect point of contact for all eCybermission volunteers (CyberGuides and Virtuiral Judges); evaluation and plan training, certification of all volunteers; maintain and deliver ongoing and up to date communications and resources to the competition management; develop and maintain a Volunteer recognition and communication program; provide assistance to participating groups, organizations, and as needed to drive volunteer induction efforts - both in person and online; provide supervisory support to Judging and Awards Coordinator. Must be extremely adept with a variety of social/professional networking and informal learning platforms. Must have a high competency for database management technology. Must demonstrate a high degree of flexibility, project management skills and leadership. Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or 4-10 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
