We are currently searching for a Senior Claims Analyst to work at our Corporate Headquarters in Arlington, Virginia. Responsibilities: An integral part of our Risk Management Team, the Senior Claims Analyst is responsible for the oversight of liability claims administration and related litigation for the Company's insurance and self-insurance programs. Additional responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following: Manage all insured general liability and workers compensation claims and related lawsuits. Develop and manage cost effective claims and litigation management strategies with internal and external resources including notification to insurers, and tracking of settlement costs, investigative and litigation expenses. Support community operations in a variety of ways, including consulting on general risk management related issues, incident report trending and responding to inquiries. Serve on the crisis management team. Review all incident reports reported. Clarify and collect additional information as needed. Analyze to determine if incident meets criteria to report as a claim. Monitor claims to ensure they are actively managed and loss reserves are appropriate. Develop effective strategies for claim resolution. Work with adjusters and attorneys to gather documentation and information requested. Make settlement recommendations and approve settlements within designated authority. Ensure timely and accurate handling. Provide oversight and direction to third party claim administrators and adjusters; conduct periodic claim reviews and audits Manage outside counsel; coordinate discovery requests using ediscovery, collaborate on litigation strategy and settlement negotiations. Review and approve legal invoices using Serengeti tracker. Prepare periodic lawsuit analytics report. Qualifications: Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Risk Management or Accounting/Finance. In addition, the ideal candidate should have 3+ years of prior claims management experience, preferably in a multi-state corporate environment. Liability claims experience is strongly preferred.
Candidates must be detail oriented, have strong MS Excel skills as well as outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
