The purpose of the class is to supervise the day to day functions of the program and probation officers; and ensure program policies and procedures followed; works wit! h courts, attorneys, other agencies; and compile and prepare reports.Supervision: ⢠Exercised: Classification typically supervises. ⢠Received: ⢠Note: Other reporting relationships may applyExample of Duties: The City of Richmond - Department of Justice Services is seeking a qualified individual with experience to fill the position of Senior Pretrial Probation Officer (Grant-Funded). Duties include but are not limited to the following: Develops and carries out internal case audits to assure they meet the state and program standards; Assists in preparation of monthly and quarterly reports as requested; Conducts regular meetings with staff to discuss program goals and targets; Provides written and oral reports to judicial officers; Conducts training for newly hired pretrial probation officers and assist probation staff with supervision of caseloads.Qualifications, Special Certifications and Licenses: Bachelorâs degree in Criminal Justice, Psychology, Social Work, Cou! nseling or a related field and two years experience or an equi! valent combination of training and experience. Requires two years of experienceAn equivalent combination of training and experience (as approved by the department) may be used to meet the minimum qualifications of the classification.Preferred candidate will have a current Virginia Criminal Information Network certification; experience administering COMPAS, LSI or research-based Risk Assessment Instrument; and completion of Pretrial Community Corrections (PTCC) training.
