This position is located in the Civil Law Department of Region Legal Service Office Mid-Atlantic (RLSO MIDLANT). The Civil Law Department Head serves as Staff Judge Advocate (SJA) for Commander, Navy Region Mid-Atlantic (CNRMA) in Norfolk, Virginia. The CNRMA Legal Office processes various types of legal and administrative actions under the cognizance of a General Court-Martial Convening Authority (GCMCA) and Region Commander, such as non-judicial punishment appeals, formal pretrial investigations, court-martial, administrative separations, fact-finding hearings, administrative investigations, and complaints of wrong. In addition, this off! ice processes other types of legal and administrative actions,! such as Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and Privacy Act (PA) requests, financial disclosure reports, and ethics requests, and also provides support and guidance to the Mid-Atlantic Region Armed Forces Disciplinary Control Board. This position serves as a paralegal assistant to the Region SJA, as the supervising attorney, and is responsible for providing legal and administrative support on a broad range of civil law matters. You must obtain and maintain a security clearance DUTIES:
- Provide legal advice and support to the Commander, region staff, installation commands and tenant commands within the Mid-Atlantic Region on a broad range of civil law matters
- Analyze sensitive government information, identify references and sources, and interpret statues and regulations to complete assignments

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the ! work of the position to be filled and has equipped you with the particu! lar knowledge, skills, and abilities, to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: drafting all forms of legal correspondence and documents using proper legal phraseology/terminology and in conformance with established requirements; performing legal research utilizing various sources; analyzing factual information and applicable legal guidelines related to civil and ethical law matters; applying Federal Freedom of Information Act, Privacy Act and ethics laws, rules and regulations; conveying routine information regarding legal issues both orally and in writing.
Or you a master's or equivalent degree or have completed two full years of graduate level education leading to such a degree.
Or you have some specialized experience, but less than one year and have more than one year but less than two years of education.

REQUIREMENTS:
