POSITION SUMMARY:
The Lead Software Engineer position has core responsibi! lities for the architecture, design, development, maintenance and operations of applications produced by the Web Applications department. The Lead Software Engineer position is responsible for ensuring web application design and coding standards are created, updated and met in the development and support of assigned applications. The Lead Software Engineer position is responsible for creation of design patterns using a wide range of web-oriented software development skills with an additional area of emphasis on BI implementation, refinement and operations.
The Lead Software Engineer must be comfortable and adept at working in an agile environment. The Lead Software Engineer will have significant interactions with members of the information system project team ultimately responsible for creation of the application.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
a Application Design The Lead Software Engineer is responsible for the creation of application desi! gn patterns which are compatible with existing applications an! d can be reused by other application developers. (15%)
a Application Development The Lead Software Engineer is responsible for the development of assigned applications, methodology, best practices and standards applicable to the application and the organization. Previous experience with requirements, system design, software design, coding using Microsoft .NET technologies, testing (unit, integration, system, performance, regression) and deployment to test and production environments are essential. (65%)
a Application Tuning, Monitoring and Operational Support The Lead Software Engineer is responsible for the analysis of current systems and applications, including performance, diagnosis, upgradeability, integrations and pro-active maintenance. (15%)
a Research and Professional Development Responsible for researching new products and/or solutions that would meet the needs of internal and external customers, maintain awareness of technology trends, industry standar! ds and best practices. Provide feedback and recommendations to the manager. (10%)
QUALIFICATIONS:
Formal Education: College degree in computer sciences from an accredited college. Equivalent work experience may be substituted.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: This position requires excellent web applications design and development skills with strong oral and written communication skills. The Lead Software Engineer will possess advanced technical skills and will be responsible for designing, creating, maintaining and operating business oriented web applications including advanced BI reporting capabilities. The individual must have 10+ years of extensive experience with developing web-based applications (business oriented web sites, Business Intelligence) in a Microsoft .NET environment. The Lead Software Engineer must have extensive knowledge of full life cycle management with an emphasis on agile principles. Broad experience wo! rking with a wide range of managers, developers, and customers is requi! red.
a Development technologies including HTML, CSS, XML, JavaScript, JQuery, MVC, Entity Framework, C#, LINQ, WCF, Microsoft .NET Framework 4.0/4.5
a SQL Server BI and SQL Server 2008/2012 SSIS/ETL
a Strong transact SQL skills, MDX skills a plus
a Ability to lead other developers including objective and constructive code reviews
- Strong Object Oriented design and development principles including encapsulation, inheritance and polymorphism.

- Very strong written and verbal communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills, with ability to interact with all members of the agile team.
