Desired Skills:

Minimum Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree or comparable education and related training

2. Five years of lending experience or comparable work related experience

3. Strong problem solving ability and analytical skills

4. Strong verbal and written communication skills

5. Strong negotiating skills and collection skills

6. Good knowledge of banking regulation, legal and documentation requirements

7. Knowledge of regulatory and legal requirements for repossessions and foreclosures

8. Ability to operate BB&T loan system for information and reports

9. Ability to utilize basic computer applications such as Microsoft Office

10. Ability to travel, occasionally overnight

Responsibilities:
1. Monitor all business past dues, non-accruals, and problem accounts and provide direction and feedback to Business Services Officers and City Executives on servicing and restructuring past due loans, assessing loss potential and forecasting chargeoffs.

2. Directly serve as asset manager for the larger, more complex regionally assigned business loan relationships up to $1,000,000 (with potential for working on credit relationships from $1,000,000 to $5,000,000 under the guidance of a Problem Loan Administrator) that have been identified as serious problems, which are non-performing, likely to become non-performing, or become a credit loss.

3. Review loan reports to identify credits that should be designated as non-performing. Place loans in non-accrual status in consultation with Account Officer, Regional Credit Officer, Senior Credit Officer, and Regional Loan Administrator

4. Prepare and follow-up on non-performing loan reports. Ensure development and implementation of appropriate action plans.

5. Work with the Bankruptcy and Recovery Departments to effectively manage accounts in bankruptcy.

6. Manage small business foreclosures and liquidations as necessary using local attorneys, the ORE (Other Real Estate) Department, and other outside liquidation specialists. Serve as a resource for account officers or others involved in these proceedings.

7. Serve as liaison with Problem Loan Managers in conducting regional problem loan servicing.

8. Assist in training lending personnel in all aspects of the Special Assets function as needed.
