Post by Jobing - JOB SUMMARY: The Recovery Officer is responsible for collection of delinquent loan accounts. These responsibilities include assisting members with! payment plan options. The Recovery Officer must be able to handle collections with professionalism that promotes a positive image of Member One Federal Credit Union in sensitive situations.LOCATION: ROANOKE, VAJOB ACCOUNTABILITY: • Collects on delinquent consumer and mortgage accounts, which will involve phone contact, face to face contact and sending out written correspondence.• Assists in any and all work pertaining to the identification and resolution of delinquent accounts.• Assists in skip tracing for all types of delinquent accounts.• Must be able to work effectively with internal and external members, attorneys, repossession firms and other organizations to collect past due accounts.• Assists in handling returned checks and courtesy pay accounts.• Assists in handling garnishments served on Member One Federal Credit Union from other creditors.• Insures that all collection activity is documented and performed in a professional and legal manner.• Assist! s in fraud management.• Promotes additional credit union pro! ducts and services that will enhance member value in the credit union.• Other duties as assigned by management. High school diploma or equivalent required.
Associate Degree in business related field preferred. Previous collection experience required. The following are required skills: excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to tactfully, effectively and professionally interact with coâ€"workers, members, and other professionals; basic current working knowledge of computers and software programs; ability to analyze trends and make recommendations to reduce risk/increase business; ability to pull facts together and clearly articulate sequence of actions on accounts in court; current knowledge of collection, Bankruptcy and garnishment regulations. Must provide own transportation and be able to travel to and testify in court as required.
