The Litigation Support Sr. oversees administration of the eDiscovery environment, escalates technology issues to management as appropriate, updates system status dashboards, notifies business users of issues, superv! ises evaluation of new releases and patches, and provides technical and logistical assistance to case teams. This position will provide mentoring, support, and direction to junior members of the Litigation Support Team. This position requires a broad knowledge of technical information and legal understanding regarding electronic discovery and the legal hold process.
Responsibilities include:
Devises or modifies procedures to solve complex data search problems considering equipment capacity and limitations, operating time, and form of desired results.
Analyzes and resolves existing system difficulties and documentation as necessary.
Has full technical knowledge of all phases of applications systems analysis.
Develops and oversees daily, weekly, and monthly system operation validation procedures.
Responsible for planning, organizing, directing and conducting forensic analysis on a variety of electronic media in support of eDiscovery matters! including large-scale investigations.
Will serve as a sou! rce of technical counsel and advice for productions requiring IT forensic support across diverse types of media.
Responsible for managing digital forensics examinations through the entire lifecycle (case planning, intake, acquisition, examination, presentation and disposition).
Provide technical guidance and assistance to legal staff while ensuring that proper precautions are taken in the preservation and prevention of spoliation of electronic evidence.
Provide technical support for requests from our Litigation Support Department for email, instant messaging, and/or file restores in support of regulatory or litigation matters.
Interface with Attorneys, Paralegals, Senior management and translate
Ten years of relevant IT experience
Solid IT technical experience, strong communication skills, and technically able to hit the ground running in most any back office environment.
The ability to work extremely well under pressure, while maintaining confid! entiality, and professionalism with customers is critical.
Strong ability to articulate well in both written and oral communication.
Project management experience.
Must be able to manage multiple projects concurrently and maintain a computer forensic lab.
Strong competency in the tools, techniques, and methodologies surrounding incident response, computer forensics, and eDiscovery.
Demonstrated expert-level experience in the use of automated forensic tools (e.g. EnCase, Forensic Toolkit, Paraben Suite), Xways, BlackBag Forensic Suite, Knoppix based tools, etc.) and able to articulate, in detail, the processes being conducted by these automated forensic tools.
Demonstrated experience in and ability to demonstrate the interpretation, processing and translation of file and operating system artifacts across a variety of platforms.
Demonstrated experience and be able to demonstrate the processing of large-volume forensic and ediscovery investigations.!
Demonstrated working knowledge of and ability to make application ! of the Federal Rules of Evidence (FRE) and Federal Rules of Civil Procedure (FRCP) as they apply to electronic evidence as well as demonstrated experience in applying these rules to the framework of an investigation or litigation.
Demonstrated experience testifying and taking testimony in a civil, criminal, regulatory or administrative proceeding.
Strong facilitation skills and process-driven analytical skills
Development of documentation: charters, scope documents, project plans, issue logs, status reports, risk mitigation plans etc.
Software Skills: MS Project
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to communicate effectively with team members, stakeholders, and management on both the business and IT sides.
Superior analytical and problem-solving skills.
Experience mentoring junior staff
Strong ability to manage multiple efforts simultaneously
Responsible for the firm's litigation support technology ! function including the direction for use and purchase of legal practice support technology.
Responsibilities also include the training and management of litigation support personnel, the development and the execution of litigation support procedures and protocols, and the education of attorneys and paralegals on various technologies. Manage the full lifecycle of a case from collection through trial. Provides resolutions to an extensive range of complicated problems. Solutions are innovative, thorough, and practicable. Works under limited direction Independently determines and develops approach to solutions. Work is evaluated upon completion for adequacy in satisfying objectives. Represents the organization as the principal customer contact on contracts and often performs project leadership role. Interacts with senior customer personnel on significant technical matters frequently requiring coordination across organizational lines. College Degree or equivalent experience;! advanced studies/degree preferred. Typically has 5 - 7 years related e! xperience.
