As a Senior Associate, Mortgage Consultant Retail Sales, you will partner closely with leaders in the business in delivering an excellent customer experience while expanding your mortgage knowledge. You will be responsible for all aspects of mortgage originations specific to pre-funding operations such as sales analysis, interviewing, gathering data, and compiling a quality loan application. You will have ownership over ensuring that loans are processed, underwritten, and closed accurately in a timely manner while remaining in compliance. Responsibilities in this role include, but are not limited to:
- Ability to work in a Bank regulated or similar financial in! stitution environment to partner and leverage products and customers
- Work personal existing book of business from external sources such as:
- Realtors
- Builders
- Attorneys
- CPAs
- Financial Planners
- Developers
- Utilize needs based consultant selling skills for mortgage programs and other financial lending and deposit products
- Ability to thrive in a team environment and utilize exceptional partnership skills
- Leverage external referral business for maximum market share penetration
- Develop and execute a local marketing plan for external business development designed to meet goals and objectives
- Focus exclusively on customer needs and customer service
- Program, pipeline updates and mortgage activities/events such as “Mortgage Days,†Community Events, First time home buyer seminars
- To promote behavior that is consistent with Capital One’s visions, values and! ethics in order to always “do the right thing.â€
The individual we are looking for will have extensive knowledge of underwriting systems and federal mortgage standards and regulations. This individual will possess strong analytical skills, be highly organized, and enjoy working in a fast paced environment. Key to success in this role will be the ability to build positive relationships with strategic partners via needs based, consultative selling. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must to leverage results in this role.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
- At least 2 years experience in residential mortgage sales originations
- At least 2 years experience in FNMA/FHLMC p! rograms and underwriting guidelines as well as private mortgage insurers
- Bachelor’s Degree
- At least 2 years experience working in a Bank regulated environment.
- At least 2 years experience originating FNMA/FHLMC/FHA/VA loans
- An existing book of business from external sources.
